To,

The Station Master,

Dear Sir/Madam,

I want to bring it to your knowledge for a sympathetic consideration and prompt action.

My elder brother living in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh dispatched 10 boxes of apples weighing 5 kg each as per railway consignment packet no 5748147 on 19th October, 2018 by a goods train. This consignment was addressed to me at my resident in Sahibabad. After impatiently waiting for many days, finally I received the consignment from the Railway’s local goods office in Ghaziabad city.

I was surprised when I opened the boxes because they were damaged. I immediately brought it to the notice of the local Railway Goods officer in writing. When I opened the boxes at my home, I became totally disappointed as the top layer in every box considered of apples which were rotten. Underneath it, there were thick layers of stones, straws and sand, and somewhere boxes were dirty.

On the same day, I contacted the local station master. He expressed concern and helplessness saying that their office cannot be blamed for such issues. After getting reply from the local station master, I called my elder brother at Pratapgarh. Now, he wants to bring this matter to the Police for a thorough investigation so that responsible person can be find out. But, I have dissuaded him from taking this immediate hasty step because I want to give you an opportunity to look into the matter personally and bring the responsible person to book.
