A Visit to A Historical Place Full Essay English Language for Students. English Writing Essay, Article, Paragraph for Schools, College, and Competitive Exams

A visit to a historical place is both interesting and educative. Last year I went to Agra in the Summer Vacation. My uncle lives there. Agra is surrounded by many historical buildings. But the building that impressed me the most was the Taj Mahal. It is the queen of all buildings in the world. It is made of white marble. It was built by Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It has immortalised their love.

The Taj stands on a raised platform. There is a tall minaret in each corner. The tomb is built in the central hall of the building. The graves lie below this tomb. It looks all the more beautiful on a full moon light. One feels as if one were in fairy land. No wonder it is called Shah Jahan’s dream in marble. This building is regarded as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is a great master piece of artistic design.

On the inside walls, flowers have been wrought in stone with lacework of green foliage. The innumerable cells make the Taj extremely beautiful. No wonder that the wonder-stricken visitor is lost in contemplation of its beauty. No photography, portrait, or description can do full justice to the splendour of the Taj. It is a sight never to be forgotten.
