Mother Teresa is one of the greatest humanitarians in the world. Mother Teresa was not her actual name, after becoming a nun she received this name from the church after the name of St. Teresa. Mother Mary Teresa Bojaxhiu was named Agnes Gonxha Bejaxhiu after birth. She was an Albanian-Indian. she was honoured in the catholic church as Satin Teresa of Calcutta. Mother Teresa was born on 26 August 1910 into a Kosovar Albanian family in Skopje, Ottoman Empire. She was the youngest child of Nikolle and Dranafile Bernie.

Since birth, she was a great believer in God and humanity. There are many humanitarians in the history of the world but Mother Teresa stood out from the crowd because of her involvement in helping the sick, poor and dying. When she was 18, she left home and joined the Sisters of Loreto in Rathfarnham, Ireland. Despite being a non-Indian she had spent almost her entire life helping the people of India. She started her journey of humanity by opening an open-air school where she started teaching poor children.

In 1950 she established the famous missionaries of charity where poor and homeless could spend their life. Now the missionaries of charity have 160 centres in India alone. For her service and love for mankind, she was given many awards, honours, and titles, including the Noble prize in 1979 and Bharat Ratan in 1980. For the people of India and across the borders she was an angel of hope. She died on 5 September 1997 in Calcutta. She made the entire nation cry in her memory. After her death, many poor and homeless people lost their mother.
