A Scene at Railway Station or Railway Platform Short Essay / Paragraph / Article For Students Exams
A railway station hums with activity at the arrival of the train. It is always full of life and excitement. It is seldom dull and noiseless. The arrival as well as the departure of a train is a busy time there. Some People go to receive their friends and relatives, others to see them off. Everybody is on his legs. Last Sunday I went to the Railway Station to see my friend off. All sorts of vehicles were rushing towards the railway station.
A coolie came to our taxi and carried our luggage to the platform. It was crowded with men, women and children. They were all waiting for the train. Some were sitting, while others were standing or pacing up and down the platform. Some were taking tea, while others were reading newspapers. The vendors were shouting their wares. After a few minutes the train arrived. The passengers began to get in and out.
There was much noise and confusion. Shoulders rubbed against shoulders, and there was a good deal of pushing, jostling and elbowing. After some time the guard whistled and waved a green flag. The train soon went out of sight. The crowd began to melt away. The platform became a deserted place. Then there was lull for some times.
