A Healthy Mind Resides in A Healthy Body : English Articles, Paragraphs, Essay for School Students Exams.

‘A Healthy Mind Resides in A Healthy Body’ is an old Greek saying. The people of ancient Greece took great care of their physical fitness. To them ‘health was wealth’. Besides possessing strong physic, they were intellectually giants. They gave the world Socrates, Plato and Aristotle, the great philosophers. The ancient Greeks were great scientists, scholars, poets, dramatists, physicians and teachers. World owes to them for Olympic Games. They knew that mind and body go together.

Our great seers, saints and rishis were not only great in wisdom but great in war and physical achievements. Arjuna and Bhima were great warriors. They could face the challenges of life boldly. Now it is universally acknowledged, if body is unhealthy, it is vulnerable to vagaries of weather. How can a worried, weak and tension-ridden man be physically strong? How can such a man take an initiative? If the mind is sick person thinks of only pain and remedy – nothing beyond that. And it is a fallacy that a healthy and robust man has a weak and sick mind. It is sad that India has fallen to such a disgrace that her people are poor in health.

It is high time that we should realize the wisdom of the above maxim and rise to the time to build our bodies. If we physically strong we will certainly have healthy minds. A healthy mind dwells in a healthy body and there is a great truth in this saying.
