India is a country of a rich culture that has centuries of history and tradition of its own. There are numerous historical places in India to visit. Last month I had a chance to visit Red Fort, popularly known as Lal Quila. The Red Fort is a historic fort in Delhi, India. It is located on the west bank of the River Yamuna opposite to the famous Chandni Chowk market in Delhi. It was Built in 1648 by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. The fort was designed by the architect Ustad Ahmed. The construction began in 1639 and ended in 1648.

I was spellbound by the beauty of the place. It is made up of red stones. The Red Fort has many beautiful buildings some prominent ones are Rang Mahal, Mumtaz Mahal, Moti Masjid, and HammamThe Rang Mahal which means “the Palace of Colours” was built for the emperor’s mistresses and wives. Mumtaz Mahal is located in the women’s quarters of the fort, it is one of the six palaces inside the fort. Moti Masjid or the pearl mosque is constructed using white marble, Moti Masjid has three domes and three arches.

And lastly, the Hammam is mainly a building that housed the baths. This fort is a beautiful piece of the architect. I visited the fort around 11 am with my friends. We also watched the light and sound show. We clicked a lot of pictures outside the Red Fort and eat street food. Red Fort is a beautiful place to visit if you want to know the history. It enhances the beauty and glory of the country.
