A hobby is an activity taken up in leisure hours. It is taken up for change and pleasure. Having a hobby is the best way to utilize the spare time. It is usefully employed. Hobbies differ from person to person. Tastes differ and so do hobbies. Gardening is my hobby. At the back of my house, there is a beautiful garden where I grow flowers and some vegetables in this spot.
The scene of the little garden is very pleasing to the eyes. I work in the garden daily. I water the plants. My hobby is useful in many ways. It gives me pleasure. It refreshes me when I am retired after the day’s hard work. It is breath-giving. It provides the family with fresh vegetables. Flowers decorate the house and make it look beautiful.
Besides, It saves me from being idle. Hobbies are to life what springs are to a desert. They are as vital to life as shower of rain to dying crop. Life without hobbies tends to be a dull, dreamy and monotonous toil. These provide a bit of spice to life; relaxation and relief to our tired limbs and fatigued mind. These enable us to go to our work with renewed zest and zeal. That is why every Englishman rides a hobby horse.
