Essay on A Scene at a Railway Station. Full Essays, Articles and Paragraphs in English Language for School Exams.

If you have not travelled on railways then you are missing something in life. Traveling by trains is very cheap and comfortable. Railway station is a place full of great hustle and bustle. I think railway stations are one of the busiest places. Yesterday I visited the New Delhi railway station to pick my mother. I reached the station by 6 in the evening as the arrival time of the train was 6:20 pm but the train was late. So, I sat on the bridge looking at the scene of the railway station. There was a long queue in front of the booking window. Everyone seemed to be in a hurry. Some people were running with their luggage to catch the train and some were waiting for the train. Trains were either steaming in or leaving the station.

There were noise and commotion everywhere. Hawkers were shouting, some were reading the newspaper and some were just roaming around. Children were crying. At the platform, there was a large number of passengers waiting for the train. There were several stalls on the platform sailing tea, water, and other edibles. There were some stalls selling books, magazines, and newspapers. I got two novels from those stall.

The railway authorities were announcing as to whether a train was running on time or was likely to be late. For the guidance of the passengers, the number of platforms from where each train would leave or will arrive was also being announced. I saw some emotional moments at the platform as those who had come to see others off waved their hands to say goodbye to their dear ones.
