The origin of the word ‘Music’ is from the Greek word mousike means ‘art of muses’. Music is like the universal language of life. It spreads happiness and joy in a person’s life. I love to listen to music. I listen to music when I am sad, happy, or angry. I can never get bored of it. In the words of William Shakespeare, “If music be the food of love, play on, give me excess of it; that surfeiting, the appetite may sicken, and so die.” Music is something that makes a moment enjoyable and delightful. It plays different roles in different moments of life.

Listening to your favourite song can completely uplift your mood if you are feeling down. Music rejuvenates your soul and makes you feel much refreshed than ever. Music is a form of meditation. Music is not only created by people, but it is also all around in nature. The sound of raindrops is nothing but music. The loud sound of the waves in the ocean swishing is music. In the morning the birds chirp, and it is a musical sound that birds make. The sound of trees and leaves rustling are all their forms of music. Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche a German philosopher and poet said “without music, life would be a mistake” and I completely agree with him. Music has great qualities of healing a person emotionally and mentally.

Music has the power to cure diseases such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, etc. Everybody has their kind of music that they love, that is why it is special to all of us in our unique ways. Music is the essence of life.
