There is a future, and it cannot be evaded, and when it is reached it cannot be changed for we are just deciding what it shall be. We are our own destiny-makers. It is well to face the future with care and caution. The fate of those who do not have future plans is determined by chance. They aim at nothing, so they achieve nothing in their life.

It is natural for a man to have some ambition in life. You may call it his dream about his dream about his future. He often thinks what he would like to be when like to be when he grows up. And I am not an exception. I also have my future plans. I would like to tell you what I intended to be when I grow up. You may take it as my choice of the profession that I would like to adopt.

I come from a family of army officers. My elder brother is a captain. My father is in the Air Force. My grand-father retired as a Colonel. So I want to get a commission in the Indian Army. Anyhow, I have my own reasons for choosing this career.

My love for my country compels me to join army. As an officer in the army, I shall be able to serve my motherland. Ours is a peace loving country. But it does not mean that we should leave our frontiers unguarded. We should keep an eagle eye on our national frontiers. We should be able to face any aggression. As an officer in the army. I will consider it as my sacred duty to safeguard the honour of my motherland.

I am very fond of brave deed. I remember how I once rescued a drowning child at the risk of my own life. As a boy scout, I have always tried to perform little acts of bravery. If I join the army, I shall get an opportunity to show my bravery.

I have love for discipline. Today there is a lack of discipline. This is the root cause of many evils in the society. Discipline gives a strength of character. Some people may frown at strict discipline of military life, but I like it. So I want to join the army.

Life without adventure is dull and boring. I want to live an adventurous life. I always take delight in facing dangers and meeting challenges. A career in the army alone can satisfy my adventurous spirit.

Apart from all this, good pay also attracts me to join the army. Military officers are well paid. They enjoy many facilities and benefits.
