AMP stands for Accelerated Mobile Pages. It is an open-source framework developed by Google and Twitter aimed at creating fast-loading web pages for mobile devices.

AMP pages are stripped-down versions of traditional web pages, optimized for speed and performance. They use a simplified HTML format and prioritize loading critical content first, which helps reduce page load times significantly.

Key features of AMP include:-

Pre-rendering: AMP pages are pre-rendered by Google's servers, allowing them to load almost instantly when accessed from search results or other platforms.

Limited JavaScript: AMP restricts the use of JavaScript to enhance performance and ensure compatibility across different devices and browsers.

Caching: Google caches AMP pages on its servers, which further improves loading times and reduces server load.

Prioritized content: AMP prioritizes loading essential content first, such as text and images, while deferring non-essential elements like ads and tracking scripts.

AMP is commonly used by publishers, e-commerce websites, and other content-heavy platforms to provide users with a seamless and fast browsing experience on mobile devices. It's also favoured by SEO professionals for its potential to improve search engine rankings and increase visibility in mobile search results.
