A television set is a piece of electric equipment that consists of a box containing a special electronic tube with a screen in front of it, on which you can watch programs with pictures and sounds. In fact, television is a system of sending pictures and sounds by electrical signals over a distance so that people can receive them on a television in their home.
Television has a rectangular cabinet inside which is a hard board piece fitted with a number of tubes and a network of wires. There are a number of knobs and a screen in its front. The knobs are meant for adjusting the channels, sound and pictures. An antenna is fixed atop the building. It is connected with the television set through a wire. It receives the signals and sends them to the television set.
You can watch all the programs, such as plays, films, news, matches, functions, etc. that are broadcast on a television. You can promote your business or industry by giving a piece of advertisement on the television. It has become the most popular and major source of entertainment as well as instructions. But it is not an unmixed blessing. It is harmful for the student community. They sit before it for hours viewing various programs. Thus their much precious time is wasted.
