Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is a name that needs no introduction. His full name was Avul Pakir Jainulabdun Abdul Kalam. He was born on 15th October 1931. To a Muslim family in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. He also served as the 11th president of India. He is among the great scientists in the world.  Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s life was full of struggles. He has been an inspiration to the new generation of India. Post presidency, APJ Abdul Kalam devoted himself to impart knowledge to students through his lectures at various educational institutions across the country. His curiosity in science and engineering knows no bounds. He was an extraordinary scientist and all of the above he was a great soul. He devoted his whole life to the progress of the nation.

His father was a boat owner and imam of a local masjid and his mother was a housewife. Who knew one day this little boy of Rameswaram will become one of the greatest scientists of India. His accomplishment in the field of science is numerous.

Kalam worked as an aerospace engineer with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) before his presidential term. Dr. A. P.J. Abdul Kalam was well known as Missile Man, for making various missiles like Agni and Prithvi for India. Under his watch, India carried out its first nuclear test in Pokhran on May 18, 1974. He served the nation with an open heart. He was a simple and dedicated person. He died during delivering a lecture to students in Shillong by sudden cardiac arrest in 2015. Every Indian cried on 27 July 2015.
