The Earth is facing a serious threat by the increasing pollution of air, water, and land. Air pollution is a serious issue and a cause for major concern in today’s world. WHO data shows that 9 out of 10 people breathe air that exceeds WHO guideline limits containing a high level of pollutants. According to WHO air pollution kills an estimated seven million people worldwide every year. It is an alarming situation.
There are many problems caused by air pollution including the burning of fossil fuels and firewood which release Carbon Dioxide and other harmful gases in the atmosphere and pollute the air. It also primarily contributes to global warming and climate change. The smoke released from factories, volcanic eruptions, forest fires also cause air pollution. The smoke released from vehicles is one of the leading causes of air pollution in India. Air pollution has many bad effects on human health. It is the cause of many skin and respiratory disorders in humans. Breathing polluted air puts you at risk of Asthma as it damages the lungs of a person. Air pollution is not only present outdoors, interior air pollution is also a big concern. According to WHO 3.8 million deaths, every year out of 7 million is the result of household exposure to smoke from dirty cookstoves and fuel.
The level of air pollution has reached a critical point. But we can prevent it by using eco-friendly fuels such as LPG and CNG. The quality of air can be improved by planting more and more trees as they clean and filter the air. We must keep our environment clean.
