In the SI (International System of Units) system, the unit of weight is the Newton (N). However, it's important to note that weight is a force, not a mass. The base unit of mass in the SI system is the kilogram (kg). Weight is the force exerted on an object due to gravity, and it is calculated by multiplying the mass of the object by the acceleration due to gravity (approximately 9.81 m/s2) on the surface of the Earth). Therefore, the weight of an object is expressed in Newtons (N), while its mass is expressed in kilograms (kg).
