The SI (International System of Units) unit of inductance is the Henry (H), symbolized as "H." It is named after Joseph Henry, an American scientist who made important contributions to the study of electromagnetism. One Henry (1 H) is defined as the inductance of a circuit in which an electromotive force of one volt is induced when the electric current in the circuit changes at a rate of one ampere per second.
