Time period and frequency are inversely related to each other.

The time period (T) of a wave is the time it takes for one complete cycle of the wave to pass a given point. It is measured in seconds.

Frequency (f) of a wave, on the other hand, is the number of complete cycles of the wave that pass a given point in one second. It is measured in Hertz (Hz), where 1 Hz equals one cycle per second.

The relationship between time period and frequency can be expressed mathematically as:-

f = 1/T

Conversely,

T = 1/f

In simpler terms, as the frequency of a wave increases, the time period decreases, and vice versa. This relationship holds true for all types of waves, including sound waves, electromagnetic waves, and mechanical waves.
