Write a Letter to the Librarian Requesting Him to Exempt You From the Fine For Returning the Books Late.

                                                 Subject: Exemption of fine due to late returning of book.

Dear Sir/Madam,

The following books were borrowed from the college library on 5th September, 2018:

  1. Lucent General Knowledge, English
  2. Kiran’s SSC Previous Years Solved Questions GK

Both books were issued to me for fifteen days and the last date for returning the books was 20th September, 2018. But I had to go to Kolkata to attend my sister’s marriage. I came back only yesterday evening i.e. 29th September, 2018.

Due to above reason, I could not return the book on the due date. I, therefore, request you to please exempt me from paying the late fine on this account.

I positively expect that you will take my request sympathetically.
