A Little Knowledge (Learning) is A Dangerous Thing : Essay in English Language for Students Exams Class 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.

In every sphere of life, be it art or literature, science or politics, medicine or engineering, law or administration, little learning and incomplete knowledge always lead to dangerous consequences. An ill-educated will misguided his students. A surgeon with a smattering of medical knowledge would play with the lives of his patients. An incomplete lawyer would ruin his client.

An inefficient engineer will build bridges or machines which are likely to cause all sorts of accidents and mishaps. An ill-trained soldier will probably kill himself and his comrades, rather than the enemy. Besides, a little learning is apt to make a man proud and over-bearing. Hence it has rightly been said, “Knowledge and timber shouldn’t be much used till they are seasoned.” No one relies on persons who are not thorough in their profession or vocation. Besides, a little learning is apt to make a man proud and overbearing. On the contrary, a really learned man regards himself as a mere child gathering pebbles on the shore of the ocean of learning.

A man of deep learning is always humble and doesn’t boast of his knowledge. But a man who has a smattering of wisdom shuns the company of her neighbors and looks down upon them in his vanity.
